At the Asia VR & AR Expo held in Guangzhou from August 3rd to 5th, Xvisio Technology launched the SlimEdge XR Starter Kit, a developer kit integrating AR (augmented reality), AI (artificial intelligence), and computer vision (computer vision) capabilities. This on-device AR solution, powered by Intel Movidius' high-performance VPU, leverages Xvisio Technology's years of R&D and mass production experience. It features a high-speed on-device VSLAM engine, a high-precision and high-speed depth engine, an AI inference engine, audio and video processing engines, eye-control and gesture interaction engines, and a high-definition AR see-through display. This highly integrated, plug-and-play AR experience and development platform offers a rich array of environmental perception sensor cluster processing capabilities, supporting the demands of high-end AR/MR headsets. The developer SDK supports multiple SLAM modes, as well as plane detection, 3D reconstruction, 3D object recognition, and tracking, enabling rapid implementation of core AR experiences with spatial anchoring and precise virtual-reality integration.

This platform deeply integrates AI capabilities with AR spatial perception and interaction. Leveraging the Intel OpenVino toolchain, it adapts and optimizes mainstream AI models, enabling rapid utilization of a large number of offline-trained models. Furthermore, users can easily develop CV applications using OpenCV on this platform, allowing traditional CV tools to shine in AR workflows. This platform is widely applicable across industries such as industry, education, healthcare, construction, security, and entertainment, supporting customized development and significantly shortening product development cycles and costs.

To facilitate developers, Xvisio Technology and Ruiyue Information have jointly developed an AR computing unit based on the Yijing B556 and Qualcomm 835 processors. At the exhibition, Xvisio Technology also showcased a self-positioning 6DOF controller based on VSLAM technology. This product boasts high-speed, high-precision, and highly stable self-positioning and tracking capabilities. It is independent of external devices and has no field of view limitations. It can be used with VR/MR headsets and traditional PC 3D applications. Available in both wired and wireless versions, it represents a new means of 3D spatial interaction. Patents have been applied for in the United States and China.
