From May 24th to 27th, the 7th Digital China Summit, themed "Unleashing the Value of Data Elements and Developing New Productivity," was successfully held in Fuzhou, Fujian. Numerous advanced technologies and the latest digital achievements in various fields were showcased, creating a storm of innovation in the digital ecosystem and technology.

Among them, Fuzhou Architectural Big Data Technology Co., Ltd. (referred to as "Fuzhou Architectural Big Data") made a grand debut of its ancient building digital protection and repair system based on Xvisio's new generation of domestic high-performance MR terminal-SeerLens ® ️ II B50R Pro, which attracted many guests and audiences to stop at the scene.

MR technology empowers the digital protection and experience of ancient buildings

The digital preservation and restoration system for ancient buildings on display utilizes precise 3D modeling, incorporating rich information such as material properties, structural characteristics, and historical context to visualize content on the Xvisio SeerLens® II B50R Pro MR terminal. It also utilizes AI technology to support real-time detection and data analysis, enabling precise diagnosis and prediction, and providing intelligent decision-making solutions for ancient building restoration.

01 Intelligent Inspection and Monitoring of Ancient Buildings

Virtual simulation and real scene superposition: Through MR technology, virtual information is superimposed on the real scene of the ancient building to achieve virtual simulation of the ancient building, so that maintenance personnel can see the original appearance of the building and possible damage, so as to take maintenance measures in time.

Material analysis and prediction: Maintenance personnel can wear glasses to identify the building materials and styles of ancient buildings through image recognition, QR code recognition, etc., display relevant information such as age and quality in real time, and provide visual guidance for subsequent maintenance.

02 Predictive Maintenance

Repair plan simulation and presentation: Based on AI analysis results, pre-maintenance risk assessment is conducted, and MR technology is used to present different repair plans, helping decision makers select the most appropriate one and simulating the effects after repair.

Remote guidance and training: MR technology is used to provide remote expert guidance on maintenance work, which can be accessed and presented in real time with 3D images to improve the technical level of maintenance personnel.

03 Educational Interaction and Display

Entertaining and educational presentations: Virtual reality technology presents cultural content in multiple dimensions, allowing for on-site explanations. This provides a multi-sensory immersive and interactive learning experience, increasing learning enjoyment and enhancing cultural cognition and understanding.

Multiple virtual-real interaction modes: Users can use gestures to disassemble, reassemble, and perform perspective viewing, deepening their understanding of the ancient buildings. A variety of interactive games are also designed to make the ancient buildings come alive.

Xvisio MR terminal performs well in virtual-reality interaction scenarios

The digital protection and restoration system of ancient buildings is inseparable from the superior performance of the Xvisio SeerLens ® ️ II B50R Pro MR terminal.

01 Provide multiple interaction methods

Xvisio's MR terminal uses a self-developed high-speed and high-precision 4-eye SLAM algorithm in its underlying algorithm. It also supports multiple modal interactions such as gestures, voice, eye control, and 6DOF handles. It has the most advanced spatial computing and perception interaction capabilities in China, and has superior performance in positioning accuracy, intelligent recognition, and multimodal interaction.

The digital preservation and restoration system for ancient buildings involves a wide variety of objects and complex structures, requiring highly precise control methods to achieve virtual-reality interaction. The Xvisio SeerLens®️ II B50R Pro MR terminal boasts millimeter-level positioning tracking and object recognition capabilities, enabling precise, low-latency gesture control. Virtual objects can be stably anchored in the real environment, allowing detailed observation and analysis of the internal structure and form of ancient buildings' columns, walls, wooden beams, lintels, tiles, brackets, and roof ridges through various methods, such as disassembly, rotation, magnification, and assembly.

02 Domestic computing chips meet various transmission needs

The Xvisio SeerLens ® ️ II B50R Pro MR terminal is equipped with the Rockchip RK3588 domestically developed chip, adopts a co-processor method to enhance computing power, uses the self-developed AR OS operating system, and supports transmission methods such as Wifi, Bluetooth, 5G, and Gigabit Ethernet interfaces, and can be set up without a communication module.

For the ancient architecture industry, some data requires privacy and security. This MR terminal can be configured without a communication module. To meet the needs of some extremely large models and large-screen exhibitions, it also provides functions such as recording and screenshots, and push-pull streaming.

03Ultra-clear resolution and exquisite imaging

This MR terminal utilizes the Birdbath optical solution, achieving a resolution of up to 1920×1080, clearly and delicately displaying structural details and the overall image. Furthermore, the terminal is available with a variety of sunshades to meet the needs of both indoor and outdoor applications.

In the digital protection and restoration system for ancient buildings, users have high requirements for color rendering, clarity, details, etc. Users need a what-you-see-is-what-you-get imaging effect. The Xvisio MR terminal meets users' needs for imaging very well, and can also perfectly fit the physical environment.

04 Self-developed OS system adapts to various development environments

The Xvisio SeerLens ® ️ II B50R Pro MR terminal is equipped with the self-developed powerful XR operating system - Seer OS, which can realize functions such as spatial mesh real-time modeling, AI object recognition, plane detection, large space positioning, CSLA map recognition, etc., and also supports the development frameworks of Unity, UE, MRTK2&3.

Recognizing the building materials and styles of ancient buildings, as well as the ability to integrate virtual and real objects, requires a powerful operating system. For example, real-time mesh modeling captures spatial environments and positional relationships, enabling precise alignment of virtual objects and rendering of virtual and real objects. Developers can also achieve cost-effective cross-platform migration.

Recently, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and several other ministries jointly issued the "Notice on Issuing the Action Plan for Innovation and Development of Smart Tourism", emphasizing the encouragement and support for cultural and museum venues, etc., to use virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), extended reality (XR), mixed reality (MR), metaverse , naked-eye 3D, holographic projection, digital light and shadow, intelligent perception and other technologies and equipment to build new spaces for immersive experience of smart tourism, and enhance the data-assisted decision-making capabilities and digital technology application levels of relevant departments.

The ancient building digital protection and repair system developed based on Xvisio's new generation of domestic high-performance MR terminals can not only help traditional buildings with digital protection and repair, improving maintenance and protection efficiency, but also allow tourists, with the help of digital technology, to have the opportunity to approach those ancient historical and cultural buildings, listen to them tell historical stories, and immerse themselves in the weight of time.

In the future, Xvisio Technology is willing to work with more partners to explore the full range of MR+AI technology applications in the integration of digital technologies and scenario development, and jointly promote the digital and intelligent upgrading of the industry.
